customer & Marketing manager

We are currently recruiting for a Customer & Marketing Manager.

We publish The Simple Things, a monthly magazine about taking time to live well (www.thesimplethings.com), we run Pics & Ink (www.picsandink.com) and Free Range Mags (www.freerangemags.com) too.

This is an opportunity for someone to join us to help run and grow our two newest projects, Pics & Ink and Free Range Mags; the role will also be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service for our existing subscribers and customers across all three brands.

The role is hands on, so you’ll be creating and sending social media posts and email marketing campaigns, making short videos, managing our online shop, while also helping answer the phone and customer emails when we are busy

The job is full-time and based in our office in Oxted in Surrey, due to the nature of the role it offers very limited opportunities for remote working. Duties, in addition to the ones mentioned above, include researching and sourcing new magazines for us to stock, writing reviews and opinions on magazines for our subscribers, managing the shop stock and subscription inventory, and coordinating the logistics of sending out lots of magazines every month.

This role requires a real mix of entrepreneurial and creative flair, and a good head for logistics and organisation too. You’ll need to be confident enough to work for periods without direct supervision and be able to climb ladders and shift boxes – there is a physical element to the stock room!

Interested? You’ll probably already have experience in digital marketing, either in a more junior role or through your personal work or side hustle. You will be able to demonstrate your creativity through your work, hobbies or interests. You’ll need excellent written and oral communications skills, be proficient in software such as Word and Excel, and ideally have experience with email software such as Kalyvio or Active Campaign, Google Analytics and Shopify. And most of all you’ll need to have a real feel for indie magazines and what they stand for.

We are a small company, which means you’ll be involved in every bit of what we do and you’ll see your efforts making a real impact.

If this sounds like a job you could enjoy, or you have further questions, then drop us a line with your cv and tell us why this job is for you. (David@icebergpress.co.uk). The deadline for applications is Monday 1st July.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
